After months of complete knock-down re-build, a beautifully upgraded Ritchies IGA opened back up to eager crowds in Frankston at 8am this morning, Wednesday 18th October, and is just the latest in an impressive list of brands that are capitalising on Frankston City’s continued growth and prosperity.

Frankston City is home to the largest retail centre, Vicinity’s Bayside Centre, in the South East, plus 15,000 registered businesses which generate an annual economic output of $16.62 billion and employment for over 67,500 people.

International fashion brand UNIQLO will open in Bayside Centre in the next few months, whilst popular burger and fro-yo restaurant Yo My Goodness (YOMG), and Spanish chocolateria San Churro will cater to the hungry hoards in Frankston’s city centre. Mexican kitchen Guzman y Gomez will be up and running in Carrum Downs by early 2024.

Frankston City also recently welcomed surf and street-wear brand Ghanda, TGI Fridays, Mad Mex, Pokero Sushi & Bowl, Essential Beauty, Strand, Sheike and Betty’s Burgers

Bayside Centre is due to soon unveil a brand-new larger TK Maxx, and new-look store upgrades for Footlocker and Rebel Sports

Mayor Nathan Conroy proudly commented, “Gone are the days where Frankston was content with being labelled a gateway to the Mornington Peninsula. We are a designated Metropolitan Activity Centre, a City, and a destination for 800,000 visitors per year.”

“These new openings are just the tip of the iceberg. There is constant demand from major investors, developers and big name brands. Since even before COVID, we have seen thousands looking at Frankston City for a sea and tree change. Many people probably aren’t aware that we have over 1,300 hectares of parks, nature reserves and open space, as well as being home to a thriving hospitality and arts and culture scene.”
